"Morabeza", the new Tosca's album out on October 25th, has been produced and arranged by our Joe Barbieri.
"A monumental work" - tells us Joe - "lasted almost two years, in which many musicians from the four corners of the planet were involved. A rare human and artistic empathy binds me to Tosca, I could go so far as to say that we have the same way of looking at music or life, the same rigor, the same joy in making music. Accepting to produce this album for her was therefore more like embracing a friend, leading her with patience, respecting her in the fragility of a delicate, naked and unrepeatable creative journey".
In "Morabeza" Joe also appears as an adapter to Italian from the Portuguese ("Giuramento", brand new version of "Rosa" by Pixinguinha, "Per Ogni Oggi Che Verrà", adaptation of the planetary success of Salvador Sobral "Amar Pelos Dois" or "Mio Canarino", italian version of "Meu Canario" by Jayme Da Silva) as well as from the French ("Simpatica", from "Sympathique" by Pink Martini, and "Voodoo Rendez-Vous", from "Belleville Rendez-Vous" by Matthieu Chedid).
Particularly noteworthy is, furthermore, a brand new song written by Joe and the Brazilian composer-icon César Mendes (author for Caetano Veloso, Marisa Monte or Maria Bethânia) besides to a superb version of Joe's classic "Normalmente" performed in duet with Ivan Lins.
